Bebe Cool is already looking ahead to 2027, and his next concert will come with a purpose that goes beyond music.
The Ugandan music veteran has announced plans for a special concert dedicated to wives of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldiers, whom he describes as some of the country’s “forgotten heroes.”
The announcement came over the weekend through Bebe Cool’s social media platforms, where the singer turned attention to the women who hold down their families while their husbands serve in the military.
“I will hold my concert next year and it will be dedicated to the wives of the soldiers of the UPDF. THE FORGOTTEN HEROES,” Bebe posted, before asking his followers what they thought about the women he considers unsung heroes.
The announcement gives the planned concert a different feel from the usual artist-led spectacle. Rather than simply celebrating Bebe Cool’s music, the event is being positioned as a platform to recognise the often-overlooked role played by military families.
For many of these women, life can involve raising children, managing homes and navigating long periods of separation while their partners are away on duty. Bebe’s proposed concert aims to bring their experiences into the spotlight and celebrate their contribution to the families behind Uganda’s soldiers.
The initiative also fits into the singer’s history of using music for charitable causes.
Bebe Cool previously staged the Golden Heart Concert, an initiative that helped raise funds towards medical treatment for children with heart conditions in India.
While the 2027 concert is still in its early stages, the announcement has already sparked curiosity over what the event will look like and how the singer intends to support soldiers’ wives beyond dedicating the show to them.
For now, the finer details remain under wraps. A date, venue, ticket prices and the programme for the concert have not yet been announced.
But one thing is clear, Bebe Cool wants his next big Kampala show to be about more than the music.
