Miss Uganda Unveils 22 Finalists as Road to the Crown 2026 Begins to Heat Up

Twenty-two finalists have been unveiled at the Miss Uganda 2026 Presentation Night at Sheraton Kampala, with public voting now open ahead of the October 10 grand finale.

The road to the Miss Uganda 2026 crown has officially entered its most exciting stretch, with 22 finalists taking the stage at Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Friday night for a presentation that put their personalities, style and presence firmly in the spotlight.

The presentation night, powered by V&A Sherry, marked the latest chapter in the Road to the Crown 2026, following the nationwide regional search that produced five regional queens and secured them automatic places in the grand finale.

They were joined by 17 other finalists, creating a diverse field of 22 young women now competing for the chance to represent Uganda on one of the country's most recognised beauty platforms.

One by one, the contestants stepped onto the stage, giving the audience a first glimpse of the women behind the names as cheers and chants filled the room. With poise, personality and fashion all part of the presentation, the evening offered a preview of the personalities expected to shape this year's competition.

The night also brought together some of the women who have previously worn the Miss Uganda crown

But the audience will have more than a front-row view of the journey.

Public voting is now open on Africa Votes, with the contestant who emerges through the public vote earning an automatic place among the top five at the grand finale.

The evening also carried a deeper significance as the Miss Uganda Foundation celebrated 15 years of empowering young women.

V&A Sherry and the foundation paused the proceedings for a celebratory toast, with Rochart Kaweesa, representing V&A Sherry, joining foundation CEO Brenda Nanyonjo to mark the milestone.

Kaweesa described the partnership as a celebration of a platform that has given young Ugandan women space to be seen, heard and recognised for their talents and contribution to society.

For Nanyonjo, the anniversary was equally personal, reflecting on the journey of the franchise and the young women whose lives have been shaped by the platform.

The night also brought together some of the women who have previously worn the Miss Uganda crown, including Phiona Bizzu, Miss Uganda 2012 and now CEO of the Academy of Queens, alongside outgoing queen Trivia Elle Muhoza, who recently represented Uganda at Miss World in Vietnam.

Their presence offered a glimpse of what can follow after the crown — a journey that can extend into advocacy, leadership, business, international platforms and personal influence.

The five regional queens Nalumu Shamsa, Nabirye Faith Magero, Alum Eunice Amelia, Nakato Bridget Prudence and Murungi Angel Liz — were also recognised with gift hampers from V&A Sherry and other sponsors.

Abeeka Band, Jiren Siyan and Spice Diana provided live entertainment, while V&A Sherry kept guests refreshed with Vangrias and neat pours throughout the night.

Away from the competition, the evening carried the energy of a full-scale celebration. Abeeka Band, Jiren Siyan and Spice Diana provided live entertainment, while V&A Sherry kept guests refreshed with Vangrias and neat pours throughout the night.

Now, the spotlight shifts from the stage to the public.

With voting officially open, Ugandans have the opportunity to play a direct role in determining one of the contestants who will advance to the top five at the Miss Uganda grand finale on October 10, 2026.

The crown is still some distance away.

But after presentation night, the competition has officially begun.
