Kampala is getting ready for a serious dose of summer energy as Club Guvnor prepares to take its party outside for the Serendipity Summer Splash Street Party on Sunday, September 13.
Forget the usual nightclub routine. This one is taking over the streets outside Club Guvnor Streetside, turning the industrial area into a full-blown festival playground where the party is expected to run from day into night and straight through to dawn.
And there is already a big reason to circle the date on your calendar: international dancehall and soca star Kevin Lyttle is coming to Kampala.
The Trinidadian singer, best known for the global smash “Turn Me On,” will headline the street party, bringing the kind of Caribbean sound that should have revellers dancing long before midnight. With his blend of soca, dancehall and pop, Lyttle’s appearance gives the event an international festival feel rather than your regular Kampala night out.
The tickets just got cheaper
If you have been waiting for the right excuse to lock in your September plans, Guvnor has made the decision slightly easier.
For one week only, tickets have dropped from the usual Shs70,000 early-bird price to Shs50,000 in a flash sale running until Monday, August 31.
That means partygoers have a Shs20,000 reason to stop procrastinating.
After the flash sale closes, online tickets will return to Shs70,000, while anyone showing up at the gate will pay Shs150,000.
For those looking to experience the party from a more exclusive corner, tables are going for Shs 2,000,000 million.
