Kampala is getting ready for a little South African flavour tonight.
South African-based DJ Summer Heynes has touched down in Uganda ahead of her highly anticipated performance at Mezo Noir for the Girls in the City experience.
The DJ’s arrival has added an international edge to an event already expected to draw Kampala’s stylish party crowd, with music, fashion and female energy set to take centre stage.
Heynes, who is based in South Africa, is expected to take over the decks later today, bringing her signature sound to the Kampala nightlife scene and giving revellers a taste of the energy she has built on the South African entertainment circuit.
Her arrival was announced ahead of the event, with organisers sharing a glimpse of the DJ after she landed in Uganda and encouraging partygoers to get ready for the night.

For Kampala’s girls-about-town, Girls in the City promises more than just another night on the social calendar. It is a chance to dress up, link up and dance the night away in one of the city’s increasingly popular nightlife spaces.
And with an international DJ behind the decks, expectations are understandably high.
Heynes’ appearance also adds to the growing connection between Uganda and South Africa’s nightlife and entertainment scenes, with DJs, musicians and creative personalities increasingly crossing borders to bring new sounds and experiences to East African audiences.
